Job Summary
Directs the operations of a department. Responsible for budgets, personnel, strategic directions, and outcomes. 
Administer comprehensive health education programming that includes alcohol and drug education, nutrition, stress management/suicide prevention, sexual health, healthy relationships, and other public health issues.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related progressive experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in health promotion or higher education or related field
  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in health education/promotion
  • Experience supervising full-time staff
  • Experience managing a complex budget
  • Strategic planning and program assessment experience
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and inclusive communication and public speaking skills
  • CHES or MCHES certification preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of health education programming for UT Dallas students. Manage fiscal resources, including student fee budgets, outside funding sources, and payroll of professional and student staff members. Collaborate with various departments, divisions, and outside organizations to provide adequate health resources to students. Perform administrative tasks such as reports, daily operations, policies, and programming. Encourage professional and student staff to introduce new or additional programming and services related to health education for students. Services as a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs Leadership Team, the Dean of Students Board of Directors, a case manager for the Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team, as a member of the Campus Wellness Committee, and various other campus committees. Oversees the Suicide Prevention Task Force. Responsible for the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Biennial Report.

Additional Information
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
