The role of the Director of Student Services represents a foundation-building opportunity within the McDonough School of Business, as it marks the inception of the Executive Masters of Business Administration in Dubai program (EMBA Dubai). They play a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing the student-facing intricacies of the EMBA Dubai program.
The Director assumes a broad spectrum of responsibilities, encompassing project management, event coordination, student support, quality assurance, compliance, and program delivery. These duties extend not only to on-site activities in Dubai, UAE, but also to international engagements when program cohorts embark on their global business experience (GBE) and other international residencies.
Managing the EMBA Dubai program entails continuous engagement with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds and regions. Therefore, impeccable coordination with various university stakeholders, executive students, faculty members, as well as external vendors and contractors is inherent in the role.
The employee will be required to be based in the Dubai region.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the to the Executive Director of Strategy and Development, the Director of Student Services works closely with the McDonough leadership team; and collaborates with the Deans/Directors/Associates of Admissions, Finance and Executive Education.
Requirements and Qualifications
- BA or BS – preference for MA or MS
- 8+ years of experience in program management
- Experience creating strong relationships across a complex organization
- Proficiency in interpersonal communication, effective decision-making skills, and a dedicated commitment to providing exceptional student services
- Strong operational skills and exceptional organization, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well with senior executives and faculty members, as well as a deep commitment to establishing strong relationships with all constituents of the program
- Capacity for working efficiently with Microsoft Office Suite - especially MS Excel and the Google Suite of software
- Ability to bring a balance of experience creating enthusiasm around a shared vision with innovative operational expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- International experience
- Fluency in more than one language
- Deep familiarity with the Middle East region
- Experience in delivery of graduate & executive education and/or corporate training
The Director of Student Services must physically reside in Dubai, UAE or the broader GCC region.
