Job Title: Director of Student Engagement: Youth Ministry Events

Summary of Position:    Youth Ministries Events is a department housed in the School of Theology and Ministry. The Director of Student Engagement for Youth Ministry Events will supervise and mentor all Indiana Wesleyan student leadership teams for Fusion (a high school conference), Never Too Young (a middle school conference), Summer Ministry Teams, and Examen Camp. The Director of Student Engagement for Youth Ministry Events will also provide executive level leadership in the planning, organizing, and delivering of these events that connect IWU with over 25,000 students annually.
Youth Ministry Events operates in three distinctive seasons. The Fall season is recruiting, implementing organizational structures, and planning. The Spring season is Fusion and Never Too Young management and implementation, and administrative organization for Examen Camp and Summer Ministry Teams. The Summer season is the implementation of Examen Camp, and management and support of Summer Ministry Teams, including 48 youth camps between June and July covering 18 states and Canada.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executive level leadership for all Youth Ministry Events—Fusion, Never Too Young, Examen, and Summer Ministry Teams
  • Recruitment of the student executive leadership for both Fusion and Never Too Young
  • Mentoring student executive leadership for both Fusion and Never Too Young
  • Recruitment, selection, and onboarding for all Summer Ministry Teams
  • Mentoring student leaders for each Summer Ministry Team
  • Scheduling summer camps and communicating with camp leadership personnel
  • Managing transportation and routing for all Summer Ministry Teams
  • Organizing and managing the logistics for Examen Camp
  • Organizing and managing logistics with campus organizations, including Conference Services, Student Development, and Enrollment Management for Fusion, Never Too Young, and Examen Camp
  • Other administrative duties include scheduling meetings, assisting with budget oversight for all Youth Ministry Events, and management of all registration systems

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Theology/Ministry

Experience

  • Ministerial experience in the local church required. Campus Ministry/Student Development experience preferred
