Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Director of Strategic Initiatives within the Student Health and Well-Being unit is a leadership role is responsible for developing and overseeing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall well-being and health services provided to USC students. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive innovative projects to advance the university’s commitment to student health and well-being.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field (Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Strategic Planning, other wellness-related field, etc.) and 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning and program development, preferably within a university setting.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing innovative initiatives and driving change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in student health and well-being.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Extremely organized and able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills. Diligent, take initiative and follow through and follow up with projects. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization, work effectively with all levels of employees and management, and assist in providing solutions to challenges that arise. Demonstrated experience in MS Excel; Word; Outlook.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for student health and well-being initiatives in alignment with the university’s mission and goals.
- Collaborate with university leadership to integrate strategic initiatives into broader institutional planning and decision-making processes.
