Job Description

The Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions is responsible to lead and execute all planning, operations, and elements of the ISU Athletics Department marketing and engagement functions with a high standard of excellence.  This position is directly responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of ISU Athletics marketing and fan engagement initiatives. These initiatives should enhance ISU Athletics’ brand and focus on introducing new dynamic experiences at ISU Athletic competitions and other events, and drive ticket sales and attendance. The position shall focus on implementing strategic marketing plans to connect and engage with both internal and external constituents including but is not limited to: season ticket holders, donors, fans, students, ISU faculty and staff, corporate partners, community members, and alumni. This position is also responsible for creating, designing, and executing effective gameday activities, social media initiatives, and promotions.

Key Responsibilities

●  Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive annual marketing plans for each of the 15 sports.
●  Design and implement marketing strategies that increase attendance and revenue, as well as enhance the fan experience and gameday atmosphere for home contests.
●  Coordinate all aspects of digital and traditional advertising and promotion, game-day video board content, and marketing content to be delivered on ESPN+ broadcasts. Work closely with ISU Athletics Associate Athletic Director of Sports Information & Media Relations, the Executive Director of the Bengal Athletics Boosters, and the Sr. Associate AD for Development to promote home competitions, events, campaigns, and special initiatives.
●  Hire, schedule, organize, and oversee sports marketing student interns, paid employees, and volunteers to provide meaningful experience and deliver excellent quality support to student-athletes and programs.
●  Assist with fulfillment of corporate partner inventory with Bengal Sports Properties/Learfield, ISU’s third-party MMR Rights Holder.
●  Create a desirable game-day experience and direct and organize game-day activities.
●  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

●  Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other applicable field
●  1 - 3 years experience in college athletics
●  Fluent in Adobe computer programs (Indesign, Photoshop, Premier)
●  Graphic design experience
●  Positive attitude and ability to work as a team
●  Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks
●  Ability to work nights and weekends
●  Excellent verbal and written skills
