Job Description

Friends University is seeking to fill the Director of Residence Life & Conduct position in Wichita Kansas. This position provides leadership and direction for the Friends University Residence Life Office by promoting a living learning community within the context of a Christian institution.  Responsible for all aspects of residence life including facility management, staff supervision, resident education, housing processes, and operational budget.  It is a requirement of this position to live on campus and eat in the Casado dining room. This position will also oversee conduct for the campus community through the promotion of our Community Standards, facilitating the judicial process for students in violation of our Community Standards, as well as work to assure consistency and fairness across all aspects of campus life. Housing including utilities is provided, as well as a dining allowance to meals when the Casado dining room is serving.

Skills & Requirements

Five years to ten years of similar or related experience is required. 

Bachelor’s degree is required.

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Experience in budgeting and scheduling is required as is two years’ supervisory experience. Knowledge of interviewing and hiring practices desired.
