DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS, Solve, to spearhead fundraising for Solve’s core activities, including its Global Challenges, flagship events, Solv[ED], and the Indigenous Communities Fellowship; and serve as a critical member in its next stage of growth, successfully closing six-, seven- and eight-figure opportunities.  Will be a key member of the leadership team and oversee two full-time staff members, interns, and consultants; work with team members on researching, prospecting, designing, tailoring, discussing, negotiating, closing, and stewarding gifts/sponsorships/grants; build systems/processes to coordinate and streamline fundraising activities; oversee the engagement of Solve advisors, MIT Corporation members, and other members of the MIT community; lead relationships with MIT’s Resource Development, Industry Liaison Program, Alumni Association, and other teams to coordinate stakeholder engagement; and deliver best-in-class experience at Solve events.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; seven years’ successful direct fundraising experience; experience in partnership, business development, or fundraising on behalf of international social impact or nonprofit organizations; ability to communicate and work effectively with faculty, senior administrators and MIT leaders, alumni, and high-profile business leaders; and relevant contacts in corporations, foundations, multilateral organizations, and governments that can be utilized immediately.  Must have experience building relationships with world-class international and domestic corporate/foundation/government/multilateral/high net-worth individuals as donors and sponsors; designing, successfully negotiating, closing, and managing sponsor packages and donations of $250,000-$5million+; working in a complex, multilayered environment with multiple stakeholders; and executing large-scale (500+ person) international events.  PREFERRED:  higher education experience and experience supervising staff, setting goals, and managing performance and budgets.  Job #20618-12

Travel is to be expected but at the moment will be in line with MIT COVID-19 travel policies. Prior to the pandemic, travel was estimated at 25% domestically and 15% internationally.
