Reporting to the Ohio State Online Enrollment leader and serving as a leader and expert for all online reenrollment activities, the Director of Online Reenrollment will lead and manage all online reenrollment strategies, direct the development of teams of reenrollment specialists, develop all Ohio State Online reenrollment processes, lead efforts related to student development within any university-to-business relationships, and serve as a senior liaison between college and university personnel for online student success and reenrollment.

The Director of Online Reenrollment will lead the team that ensures online students are successful at Ohio State. This person will be the responsible for leading reenrollment activities of individual reenrollment specialists and team leaders for assigned online programs. The Director will develop strategies for student reenrollment, communication for students, tracking and analyzing of students and their term over term retention and persistence, analyze overall online graduation rates and trends, and identify, create and evolve the retention process to achieve overall enrollment goals. This person will share any pertinent trends and analyses with programs as needed.

This person will have a thorough understanding of student reenrollment tactics to help put processes in place to drive term-over-term retention. The Director will train the reenrollment teams on different strategies and tactics to generate reenrollment along with supporting students on their journey to graduation. The Director will develop ways to ensure the student experience is as positive as it can be as their teams engage with students, reenroll them, and deliver feedback as needed to the program about any potential issues, obstacles, or watch-outs. A critical component of this will be developing and tracking key performance indicators related to student reenrollment and their teams’ performance with an eye towards constant improvement. Student data management is an essential part of the role as student rosters are often not perfect, and it’s important to find every student that needs support.

The Director of Online Reenrollment will work closely with the online recruitment team as applicants confirm and become ready to enroll to transfer any pertinent student knowledge. This person will work closely with the online marketing team to share any student insights that could be leveraged in marketing materials and help support efforts to encourage the student to continue their education with an advanced degree at Ohio State. The Director will collaborate with the instructional design team to help improve any course specific issues that might arise. This person will partner with college partners and counterparts within central Ohio State groups to ensure the online students are set up for success with the necessary supports in place.


Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years in reenrollment, retention, recruitment, communication or related field. Experience in reenrollment, recruiting or sales, managing people, data tracking and management, and working cross-functionally within an organization. Broad knowledge and expertise in reenrollment sales tactics, advising, understanding of the student lifecycle, working with marketing and an outside sales team, strategy development, process creation and collaborating across a large organization.

Desired: Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred. 12+ years of experience preferred. Experience in online higher education reenrollment or retention services, working with nontraditional, online students, managing a large organization, and working across senior levels within an organization preferred. Deeper knowledge and experience of the required areas.
