Primary Purpose: The University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC), an academic tertiary care center, is the flagship hospital of the UC Health system. The Center for Emergency Care (CEC) is the regions only adult Level 1 Trauma Center as designated by the American College of Surgeons, as well as a Comprehensive Stroke and Burn Center. With highly specialized emergency medicine and nursing teams, and the largest number of intensive care beds in the city, the CEC is equipped to treat the most complex cases. In collaboration with the UCMC Senior Leadership Team, the Chair of Emergency Medicine, CEC Medical Director and Executive Director of Business for Emergency Services, the Nursing Director is responsible for the daily operations and executing the strategic goals for the CEC. Annual patient visits: 62,000 Beds: 62 including a 10-bed Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) and a 6-bed trauma/medical resuscitation area. A brand-new CEC renovation project is in progress and slated to open in 2023 which will expand the Emergency Department (ED) to 80 beds and open a separate 25 bed observation unit and a new 13 bed flexible care ICU FTE: 165 (145 in the Emergency Department; 20 in the Clinical Decision Unit)

Knowledge and Skills License and Certifications: Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio. BLS. Certification in specialty area strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Nursing, minimum required.
Years of Experience: Three to five years equivalent experience, minimum required
Required Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated progressive responsibilities in management. Demonstrated evidence of successful management. Demonstrated experience in budgeting for operations and personnel management. Demonstrated evidence of continuing growth and leadership.
