Salary Range

$80,100 - $85,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

  • Develops and oversees marketing plans, including consistent branding, advertising, public relations, direct marketing, promotion development, and internet marketing.
  • Supports the Alumni programs team with innovative concepts and marketing promotions.
  • Conducts and oversees constituent research activities, adjusting marketing strategy to meet changing needs of ASU alumni.
  • Establishes relationships with key constituents/partners.
  • Plans and oversees the development of promotional materials and activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Develops external and internal communications and public relations efforts. Designs and plans marketing trainings for the team, chapter leaders and other presentations as needed.
  • Works with key administrators to ensure marketing consistency.
  • Oversees the Alumni website from a marketing content stand point (versus IT) including oversight of website design, enhanced reporting and tracking capabilities.
  • Supervises a staff and works collaboratively with others.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of a master calendar/schedule of events for use in the Association’s communications plan.
  • Determines target markets to expand audience base and decides how target market will be reached.
  • Creates, edits, and/or oversees creation of news items and articles for various news media, feature articles for various publications, and promotional or public relations material.  
  • Ensures timely posting of news and events, and continuous improvement of the Association’s electronic strategies, including social media.  
  • Monitors use of brand and graphic standards works within defined budget parameters.  
  • Collaborates with other communication professionals across the university to advance alumni engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years of experience in marketing and product development, which includes five years in a supervisory capacity; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of effective marketing and branding activities, public relations, methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of national media sources and editorial practices including print, television, radio and electronic/ online.
  • Experience in coordinating and supervising the work activities of others.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and organization. 
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in project and budget management.
  • Skill in developing, establishing and maintaining effective relationships, both internally and externally. 

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Communicate clearly perform essential functions
  • Drive University vehicle and/or cart to campus site
