The Opportunity:
As the Director of International Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment reporting to the Vice President of International Programs you will lead and oversee international undergraduate admissions and recruitment components of the Office of International Programs. Through your evaluation and assessment of admissions and recruitment practices, you will establish best practices, policies and procedures for recruitment; admissions and transfer credit evaluation; and processing and create strategic long and short-term goals to increase the percentage of international undergraduate students attending WSU. You will build relationships with administration, academic programs, and faculty across the WSU institution, as well as recruitment agencies, government agencies, and external institutions, to support WSU recruitment efforts and the articulate the goals and benefits of international education to all constituencies.
Washington State University (WSU) International Programs enables every WSU student to graduate with a rich understanding of different cultures and nation by bringing international students and scholars to our campuses and sending students abroad to advance their studies. International Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment plays a critical role in helping International Programs achieve our academic and enrichment goals.
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in international programs including at least three (3) years in managing an international student program or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities as listed in the position description.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international student admissions and recruitment best practices.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Monthly Salary: $6,733.54 - $7,683.15 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU's Administrative Professional Compensation .
