Summary
The Director of Information Technology and Systems Infrastructure at the Tulane University Law School is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure and systems that support the educational and administrative functions of the business school. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Information Technology and Media Services, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the technological strategy, managing a team of IT professionals, and ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of all IT systems. The Director of IT also serves as a hands-on Systems Administrator, directly managing and maintaining critical IT systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Possess a strong working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and their applications in a business environment. Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization. 
• Familiarity with Service Desk operations, including incident management, problem resolution, and providing top-notch customer support to end-users. 
• Proficiency in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework, ensuring efficient and standardized IT service management practices are implemented and followed. 
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to diverse audiences. 
• Display a strong focus on customer service, consistently striving to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders. 
• Exhibit the ability to prioritize tasks, needs, and objectives effectively, both as an individual contributor and as a team leader. Meet deadlines and deliver results efficiently. 
• Actively promote a culture of inclusion and respect within the team, recognizing and appreciating diverse perspectives, opinions, and contributions from team members, customers, and external partners.
• Extensive Experience with Windows Server administration and multiple versions of the Windows operating system.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Demonstrates knowledge of contemporary and emerging network architecture designs and technologies, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
• Experience with database design and knowledge of server-based database software such as Oracle or MS SQL.
• Excellent analytical skills and verbal and written communications skills.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 4 years of related computer experience.
• 2 years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience in managing complex IT infrastructures, including hybrid-cloud environments and on-premises services. 
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, AWS, Azure, etc.).
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 27.
