Director of Faculty Learning 

This is a grant funded position currently funded through June 2021. Position is subject to continuation of work and funding.
The Director for Faculty Learning is responsible for leading a grant funded project to provide an online faculty training and certification to teach competency-based education (CBE) courses at TBR institutions. The director should apply advanced understanding of the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), adult learning theory, and instructional design principles to project related work. The director will serve as a project manager in developing a scaling plan for CBE across the TBR system that includes recruitment of faculty, training of instructors in the CBE model and pedagogical approaches, individual campus consultations, and quality assurance reviews of CBE courses in the development phase. The director will engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders in the design of the faculty training and in support of institutionally-led CBE efforts. Furthermore, the position will serve as a liaison and representative to academic departments at TBR institutions, work groups, and committees. As a member of the academic affairs team, the director is also responsible for ensuring faculty utilize TN eCampus course development templates and standards, instructional design methodologies, and best practices to develop high quality, engaging, ADA/508 compliant, fully functional online CBE courses. 
The primary objective for this position is to establish an on-going sustainable model for teaching faculty how to use a competency based model for instruction. After the initial goals of the grant-funded position are achieved, the director will be responsible for identifying and developing additional faculty learning opportunities that compliment the System’s strategic plan and goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead a grant funded project to provide an online faculty training certification to teach competency-based education (CBE) courses at TBR institutions.
Serve as a project manager in developing a scaling plan for CBE across the TBR system that includes recruitment of faculty, training of instructors in the CBE model and pedagogical approaches, individual campus consultations, and quality assurance reviews of CBE courses in the development phase.

Reinforce faculty use of TN eCampus course development templates and standards, instructional design methodologies, and best practices to develop high quality, engaging, ADA/508 compliant, fully functional online CBE courses.

Requirements of the Position

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), adult learning theory, and instructional design principles to project related work and approaches to online pedagogy and facilitation;
Skill in designing, developing, and evaluating faculty learning programs;
Skill in the use and administration of course management systems (e.g., Desire to Learn, Coursera, Canvas, or Moodle);
Familiarity in the design, development, assessment, and delivery of CBE content;
Complex problem solving skills;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate student, faculty, and staff group meetings of all types;
Professional written and oral communication skills;
Ability to develop and maintain positive collaborative working partnerships;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moving parts and strong deadlines;
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects both independently and in teams
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in adult education, higher education, or similar field;
Minimum 3 years’ experience in postsecondary education at an accredited institution;
Experience with course development software and learning management systems;
Familiarity in CBE design, development, and assessment;
Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Adult Education, Higher Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field;
Experience with using CBE design, development, and assessment;
Experience with leading faculty educational learning and development
