Job Description

The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring a Director of Experiential Programs. Reporting to the Executive Director in the Career Services Office, this position is responsible for:

  • Manages the University Cooperative Education/Internship Program for Undergraduate, Graduate, and PhD students maintaining adherence to the standards of the program. 
  • Coordinates directly with Executive Director and departmental leadership to define and ensure co-op policies and procedures are up to date. 
  • Advise students who are involved or interested in the Cooperative Education/Internship Program. 
  • Manages first level student concerns, policy clarification or decisions on waiver requests. 
  • Markets Experiential (Cooperative Education/Internship) Programs creating special programming, presentations, and communication.
  • Delivers weekly communications to students during their time on Cooperative Education/Internship.
  • Serves as a liaison providing leadership between employers and students for processes and addressing any academic, registration, accounting, and logistical issues.
  • Works directly with Career Services Executive Director to liaise extensively with CSO Program Managers, Department Chairs/designated Faculty /Co-op Advisors, and other university departments (SEVIS/ISSS, Financial Aid, Legal, Student Accounting and the Registrar).
  • Engages employers and external constituents by facilitating connections with Career Services Executive Director.
  • Manages recruiting activities related to Eagle Career Champions Program partners.
  • Facilitates employer site visit scheduling, promoting to establish student attendees and management of tracking in Handshake.
  • Communicates with employers as necessary for creation or renewal of MOUs, modifications of contracts, before final signature approval from University Director of Business Operations. 
  • Oversees accurate completion of Cooperative Education/Internship Program registration contracts and maintains digital records of students and employers. 
  • Manages Cooperative Education/Internship Program database in Handshake and ensure accurate input of data.
  • Generates Cooperative Education/Internship Program historical reports and distribute as necessary.
  • Compiles official reports and surveys for assessment and Career Services professional organizations as requested.
  • Administers the marketing, tracking and facilitating the awarding of the Co-op Assistance Award. 
  • Contributes to execution of annual Industry/Career Expo and duties as assigned.
  • Attends university and departmental functions as well as professional workshops, conferences, seminars, and webinars occasionally outside of office hours. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience, including at least 2 years of experience with Career Services and/or Corporate Relations.
  • Excellent organizational, technical and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional computer competences including ability to maintain, analyze and review data.
  • Professional demeanor with above average organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and operate in a team environment.
  • Academic and higher education experience a plus.
