Reporting to the Director, Regional Campus Recruitment Strategies & Initiatives, the Director of Student Recruitment at Ohio State’s Newark campus leads the recruitment and new student enrollment functions on the Newark campus; Provides leadership and strategic direction to eight staff members including an assistant director, five admissions counselors and two administrative support personnel. Hires, trains, and provides coaching and feedback to staff. Directly supervises the assistant director and two administrative support personnel.

Actively participates in the university’s performance review process. Promotes and leads professional development opportunities for the admissions team. Fosters a sense of teamwork and actively promotes the university’s shared values in their daily work. Develops strategic enrollment and territory management plans for effectively recruiting traditional, non-traditional, and underserved populations; interprets trends and develops enrollment strategies. Forecast new and continuing enrollment per semester. Direct efforts to identify and enroll target markets; work collaboratively with marketing and communications leaders, both on campus and within Marketing and Strategic Communications, to outline, manage and execute the recruitment strategic marketing plan for the Newark campus; provides operational direction for team members; in partnership with marketing and communications leads, conducts annual audit of communications and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with overall message and university brand.  with a strong affinity towards the use of data in all decision-making, guides the recruitment and enrollment processes and implements change when necessary. Works collaboratively with campus and university partners to develop and implement access programming; Ensures university policies and procedures are followed; Oversees the admissions office budget and all recruitment-related travel and events; and executes the strategic enrollment plan to meet university goals. Collaborates with colleagues across the university to promote Ohio State Newark. Represents the university at off campus events promoting the regional campus and the Ohio State experience. Evening and weekend hours required. Serves as key member on the student success & retention committee and the dean’s council at Ohio State Newark. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Five years of experience with progressively increased responsibilities in higher education enrollment management. Extensive experience and success in a managerial and/or supervisory capacity; demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in a flexible and diverse organization; excellent program planning and implementation skills; knowledge of current best practices in recruitment and enrollment management, particularly for open admission institutions; experience with current recruitment technologies; excellent public speaking, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, skilled in data interpretation, compilation and report presentation.

Desired: Experience working on a regional campus or similar college environment. Master's degree, Familiarity with Peoplesoft, Salesforce, and OnBase.

Salary range for this position: $62,700 - $83,600

 

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, units' available budget, and the candidates' qualifications.
