I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary: | The Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) is seeking a Director of Development (DoD) at the George Washington University. This position will support the School of Engineering and Applied Science (referred to as GW Engineering) and will report to the school-based assistant vice president for development and constituent engagement. A vital role, the DoD will partner with faculty leadership and development colleagues to create and implement innovative strategies to realize annual fundraising goals. The DoD’s responsibility is the strategic development, execution, and management of a principal and major gift pipeline, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of development services and donor relations. In addition, the Director will foster the growth of best practices in the areas of data management, analytics, and external relations as related to gift qualification, cultivation, and solicitation. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree in a relevant area of study plus 4 years of relevant experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
