Job Overview

Provide leadership, vision, and direction for the Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Reporting team in Digital Technology Solutions (DTS).


Essential Functions
  • Work with the Assistant Vice President to create an Enterprise Data Vision, Strategy, Architecture, and Governance model. Independently anticipate technological challenges and opportunities by developing, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive strategic plan. Build consensus and develop collegial collaborative working relationships with a broad range of constituencies.
  • Lead changes and transformation initiatives in enabling data-driven decision making to support digital transformation.
  • Drive the day-to-day analytical approaches and explore solutions to problems.
  • Deliver high-quality analytics and reporting solutions across key core enterprise systems.
  • Manage a team that works collaboratively to define the institutional questions that need be answered and define appropriate analytics models in addition to identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis.
  • Collaborate with development leaders and other university constituents to uncover additional opportunities to apply data analytics and modeling techniques to solve business problems and empower leadership to make data-driven decisions. Develop training programs meant for improving the understanding of the use of data, improving decision-making across the university.
  • Work towards standardization of technology solutions used in the data, analytics, and reporting space.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, policies, and controls.
  • Collaborate with Information Security on critical initiatives to secure institutional data. Create a customer service-oriented culture within the organization.
  • Make decisions based upon priorities, schedules, and an understanding of business initiatives.
  • Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, or related field.


Required Experience
  • Seven (7) years of management experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in data analysis delivering high quality and robust solutions.
  • Experience designing and building enterprise data architecture (warehouses, marts, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, SAS).

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
