Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Director of Corporate, Foundations and Government Grant Relations serves as the primary grant writer/administrator for the University. Responsibilities include working with faculty and staff to develop a wide range of grants for submission to federal and state agencies as well as private corporations and foundations with an emphasis on higher education, academic support and scholarship.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as Director of the Grant Center, managing staff and responsibilities for all grant development, submission, compliance, stewardship and reporting.
  • Reviews and approves grant expenditures, creates grant fund deposits, and coordinates with financial services regarding expenditures, compliance and reporting.
  • Serve as principal writer and researcher for grant proposals to federal and state agencies as well as corporations and foundations.
  • Leads grant project management ensuring that all aspects of pre-and post-award management are complete and compliant with associated guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinates university-wide grant submission program.
  • Develops annual plan for grant proposals.
  • Assists faculty and staff with the grant development process.
  • Develops relationships with program managers and corporate partners as related to grant making opportunities.
  • Creates, researches and maintains database of grant opportunities and funders.
  • Facilitates the Corporate and Community Engagement Workgroup to create and support an integrated corporate and community relations strategy that aligns with the university's mission and priorities.
  • Assist in the implementation and subsequent use of the Banner Grant Module for grants management and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred.
  • Seven years of grant writing experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and private grant programs including regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate multifaceted grant submissions, conduct research, manage grant teams and contribute to a cooperative work environment.
  • Outstanding writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • Must be creative, team-orientated and constituent-focused.
  • Must be able to travel and work nights/weekends as required.
  • Must have the ability to set priorities and manage several projects at once with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in higher education in an advancement setting is preferred.
  • Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI check)  a SORI and a background check satisfactory to the university.

  • Additional Information:

    This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The annual salary range for this position is $92K - $97,500. Review of candidate materials begins March 11, 2024
