Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Director of Communications - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the college dean.

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing college publications, advertising, and press.

  • Executes designed materials and press releases.

  • Makes decisions as to the protocols within the college for execution of visual designs and media releases, as well as, approval processes related to design and press.

  • Reviews materials designed by college departments to determine compliance with university visual and editorial standards.

  • Oversees decisions related to posting appropriate materials in the college, to the college website and social media.

  • Trains departmental personnel in layout programs and rudimentary design principles.

  • Executes special projects as assigned by the Dean.

  • Works with the College Webmaster to keep the information on the website updated and accurate.

  • Assists with internal communications, as requested by the Dean's Office.

  • Counsels College faculty and staff of effective use of communications.

  • Represents the College in meetings with university communication leadership.

  • Supports custom digital marketing campaigns, paid and organic, for the promotion of events, degree programs, research studies, etc.

  • Maintains the College's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube accounts in accordance with the University’s Social Media Policies.

  • Maintains digital signage and directories.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience required.

Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000 per year.
