Salary Information $95,000 - $105,000
Department Summary
Counseling & Testing Services consists of two inter-related parts: The Counseling Center and Testing Services. We exist to serve the students and community of UNT in support of the mission of the University. Through our Counseling Center cervices, we strive to support the academic success and general well-being of UNT students through professional counseling, career counseling, consultation, mental-health screenings, educational programs and self-help resources as well as referral services. We offer to consult with Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff who may be concerned about a UNT student (while still respecting the confidentiality of our clients). With client permission, we often work closely with physicians and psychiatrists, the Career Center, Office of Disability Accommodations, and many other helpful resources in order to provide the best overall care. Our Testing Services provides a wide range of services including traditional admissions testing, computer-based testing, career testing, and many other tests.
Position Overview
Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Counseling and Testing Services, the Clinical Director maintains oversite of the clinical program and clinical policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in mental health related field

  • Licensed Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist 

  • 2 years of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of professional counseling practices, policies, and procedures
* Strong oral and written communications skills
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Experience with Stepped Care or other innovative treatment delivery models * Experience in short term/brief therapy
Required License / Registration / Certification
Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. If fully licensed in another state, you must be able to obtain licensure in the state of Texas within 6 months of employment.

Job Duties


o
Collaborates with the Executive Director to provides oversight of overall clinical programming
o Oversees stepped care model and utilization of model
o Remains current on trends in clinical services
o Provides input on policy development for the center
o Monitors utilization and accessibility and updates schedules as needed.
o
Monitors clinical documentation and ensures documentation is following ethical and legal standards.
o Revises and develops documentation forms as needed
o Provides training to staff on clinical documentation as needed
o
Supervises crisis and case management programs.
o Oversees Protocall reports and reviews Protocall assessments for follow-up
o
Provides general and crisis consultation to staff and trainees
o
Rotates after hours on-call along with other members of CTS leadership team
o
Provides direct supervision to 4-5 staff and 1-2 trainees
o Aware of and utilizes personal strengths and strengths of their team
o
Serves as liaison to Protocall, Student Health and Wellness Center and UNT Police.
o
Leads staff clinical case conference
o
Professionalism
o Promptness to scheduled meetings and obligations
o Maintains proper dress and appearance
o Consistent courtesy and good interpersonal relationships with all staff and UNT community
o Willingness to volunteer assistance when needed
o Keeps Executive Director informed of needed absences or changes in schedule.
