What We Are Looking For
Baylor Law seeks a qualified individual to serve as its Director of Business Law Initiatives. The director will serve as the catalyst for promoting our business and transactional programs, expanding recruitment of employers, and elevating and strengthening the national and regional profile of Baylor Law’s business and transactional programs. The director will collaborate and coordinate efforts with our faculty, career development team, clinical director, alumni director, and development director.  
Baylor Law seeks a high-energy, outgoing, confident, motivated individual to continue the work to broaden and elevate the profile of its business and transactional programs.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
•   Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant work experience 
•   Excellent interpersonal skills
•   Strong oral and written communication skills
•   Professional dress, appearance, and demeanor
•   Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
•   The availability to accommodate extensive travel
Preferred Qualifications:
•   Juris Doctor degree 
•   Sales, recruiting, or fundraising experience 
•   Experience within a corporate or a business law-related field or law practice
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have a valid driver's license. We will consider candidates who live near the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and who will commit to extensive travel, including regular visits to Baylor Law in Waco.

What You Will Do

Baylor Law is looking for a director who can identify and develop opportunities for Baylor Law students and graduates that enable them to excel in legal and business positions. The director will be expected to enthusiastically pursue the following activities:
Networking – The director will collaborate with Baylor Law’s Career Development Office to build on existing relationships in the business world and legal profession and establish new ones to assist with expanding the business and transactional opportunities for our students and graduates. An important responsibility will be developing and maintaining relationships with Baylor alumni with business and transactional practices and positions and legal employers who may be seeking to hire law graduates for business and transactional positions. The director also will develop and maintain relationships with directors of other corporate and business law programs around the country.
Publicity/Marketing – The director will be responsible for enhancing Baylor Law’s national and regional reputation for excellence in educating and training business and transactional lawyers. These efforts will include collaborating with Baylor Law’s marketing and communications team on social media efforts and assisting with developing marketing campaigns aimed at potential employers and prospective students.
Expanding Experiential Opportunities – The director will work under the direction of the assistant dean of career development to assist with identifying and creating additional opportunities for students to put into practice the knowledge and skills learned in classes. This could include identifying new in-house externships, in addition to expanding opportunities for law students to participate in other business and transactional externships. 
Develop Resources – The director will work under the direction of the director of development to identify and develop new sources of funding and other resources to support existing and new business or transactional programs, events, and activities.
