Advertised Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 Salary commensurate with education, experiences and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)

Summary of Position: Use appropriate accounting methods to establish criteria; investigate and develop projections; or analyze a variety of conditions, problems, or questions relative to issues concerning budget and expenditures. In addition, provide responsible independent and complex record keeping and accounting functions for the Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design. Responsible for data analysis for fiscal and other decision-making, budget projections, year-end reconciliation, and employee supervision.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field by time of appointment.  
Required Work Experience: Five years demonstrated successful work experience in account/analysis and/or related field.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Duties will be performed both at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids and Division of Student Affairs in Big Rapids.
Prepare Kendall College of Art and Design and Division of Student Affairs budget allocations.
Maintain status, analyze and track all Kendall College of Art and Design and Division of Student Affairs annual operating budget submissions.
Identify strengths and/or weaknesses in budget plan and course of action to be considered to resolve issues.
Identify budget trends and implication of those trends on the Kendall College of Art and Design and Division of Student Affairs operations
Perform approval for expenses, position related changes and technology purchases as necessary.
Provide budget recommendations to respond to a wide range of issues
Develop, formulate, and recommend solutions to address complex issues and concerns that may arise in the areas of resource allocations and policies.
Participate in short and long-term fiscal planning and goal setting and strategic planning projects with university-wide implications.
Develop timelines and procedures relative to Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design fiscal management.
Provide independent complex accounting and record keeping support services for the Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design and assist in training new employees with budgetary responsibilities.
Perform all fiscal year end close transactions by specified required dates.
Utilize various software applications to produce reports and other required or requested information.
Research and compile data; analyze reports, records and accounts; make recommendations, monitor and take action as authorized.
Regularly evaluate positions and position budgets and fund accordingly. Track savings and maintain records on divisions FTE’s.
Answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources, providing explanation and interpretive information on the operations policies, practices and procedures for the Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design.
Review documents as directed relative to Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design impact, policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.
Monitor the allocation of specialized accounts including grant, sponsored projects, federal, state and institutional funds.
Supervise Operations and Data Analyst position at Kendall College of Art and Design.
Oversee Concur travel completeness checker process.
Handle sensitive and confidential matters regularly.
Prepare selected personnel forms and reports as directed. Assist department with personnel related questions and work as a liaison between the Division of Student Affairs and Kendall College of Art and Design and human resources.
Attend meetings and/or conferences.
Serve on various committees.
Work with advisors of Finance Division of Student Government and balance and maintain funds accordingly.
Perform all duties in compliance with applicable university policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
Report to the Vice President for Student Affairs and President of Kendall College of Art and Design.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
Responsible for the training of assigned staff with the area of budget responsibility.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
