Length of Assignment Fiscal Year - FT Contract
Position Function
Direct all phases of the strength and conditioning program for the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by date of employment.
Minimum Experience
Two years of experience in strength and conditioning coaching.
Minimum Other
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in physical education, biomechanics, or related field.
Preferred Experience
Three years of experience in Division I Athletics.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

None.
Required Certifications
CSCS or SCCC Certification required. CPR/AED certified or must obtain certification within 3 months of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities


Ranking 1
Job Duty
Provide proper instruction and supervision of techniques and safety procedures for the strength and condition program for the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Ranking 2
Job Duty
Supervise the proper maintenance and care of all equipment, along with maintenance documentation.
Ranking 3
Job Duty
Determine supplies and equipment needs for appropriate area; follow proper purchasing procedures.
Ranking 4
Job Duty
Supervise and educate interns in the sports performance program.
Ranking 5
Job Duty
Attend annual convention and maintain proper certification.
Ranking 6
Job Duty
Analyze needs, design, and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

Implement new developments, techniques, and programs for strength and conditioning.

Job Duty
Coordinate with the athletic training staff and sport coaches, in regard to programs for injured and rehabilitated athletes.

Establish system for weight room usage and scheduling in a fair and equitable manner.

Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference, and the NCAA.
