Position Summary
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences announces an opening for Director of African and African American Studies (AAAS) to begin on or before July 1, 2024. The AAAS program is an interdisciplinary academic program that offers an undergraduate major and a minor.  
 
The duties of the director include:
  • Advising students pursuing an AAAS undergraduate major or minor.  
  • AAAS curriculum development, review, revision, and assessment.
  • Scheduling AAAS courses and instructors.  
  • Promoting AAAS programs and recruiting students. 
  • Teaching regularly in the program, at least one AAAS course per year.
  • General program administration.


The director reports to the Deans in the College. Faculty teaching load and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
