The Director of Admissions opportunity is the first of its kind for MSB for our newly created Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) Dubai program - a role unique in its entailment of Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Business Development.

Principally, the Director is responsible for Recruitment and Yield, including preparing and delivering presentations about EMBA Dubai to prospective students and evaluating applications for admission. They conduct interviews with applicants to assess their academic ability, motivation and potential for success in the program. As well, the Director reviews each applicant’s resume and transcripts to determine whether they meet the admissions requirements for the school.

Secondly, the Director is responsible for Business Development - cultivating relationships with companies across the region. They work closely with our corporate development and executive education departments; and establish partnerships with various networks and institutions to secure sponsorships.

Thirdly, the Director is responsible for Admissions – for overseeing all administrative and operational activities and for supporting all admissions and data management processes related to the successful execution and recruitment of the EMBA Dubai program. They help to track all applications in the admissions database and provide continual reports on each applicant’s status and other timely admissions statistics. Following an admissions decision, they ensure a smooth transition from prospect to applicant status, at which point the Program Manager becomes the primary point-of-contact for all enrolled students.

Fourthly, the Director is responsible for Marketing - supporting all aspects of recruiting outreach, including creating the marketing strategy and recruitment plan, liaising with our external marketing firm and internal marketing department, and managing and executing the lead and applicant journey. They create and implement all procedures for recruitment outreach and follow-up with prospects; and ensures that all marketing content materials (both printed and online) are up to date and factually represent EMBA Dubai program goals.

Employee will be required to be based in the Dubai region

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategy and Development, the Director of Admissions Operations works closely with the MSB leadership team; and collaborates with the Deans/Directors/Associates of Admissions, Marketing, Program Development, Finance and Executive Education. Critical skills include time management, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a strong professional presence, a high level of attention to detail, an eye for process improvement, financial planning, negotiation and budget management.

A consummate professional, they become and remain knowledgeable about EMBA Dubai and all of MSB offerings to best guide prospects during their exploratory journey.

The Director interacts frequently with faculty, academic administration and staff throughout the McDonough School of Business – as well as with students and participants ranging in experience from mid-level managers to CEOs and, local government officials, and high-level political appointees.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 10 years in a professional environment – preference for experience in higher education/admissions environment
  • Skilled with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint – preference for knowledge of admissions information systems/databases - such as Salesforce
  • Local market expertise – preference for Arabic speaker
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and a poised, professional demeanor
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in maintaining confidential data
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Ability to build relationships with prospective applicants
  • Experience planning and managing a wide range of events and activities
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions and make recommendations with the end goal of process improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Comfort in working directly with executives at all levels and a genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures
