Responsibilities
In this role, you will serve as Director of Academic Personnel for multiple departments under the direction of the Department of Surgery. You will be responsible for management of all academic personnel and payroll services for approximately 600 full-time and part-time faculty, academic researchers, clinical fellows, residents and voluntary faculty, including those at affiliated institutions (VA, Olive View, Drew, Cedars-Sinai, and Harbor-UCLA).
As our Director of Academic Personnel, you will serve as advisor to senior department leadership on all matters related to faculty appointments, advancements, and compensation. Develop effective internal policies and procedures. You will implement and interpret academic personnel policies. Manage all aspects of on-boarding, off-boarding, employment, payroll and benefits services for all academic appointees. You will also advise faculty members and senior department leadership on matters pertaining to academic affairs, policies, and leaves. Research, devise, and recommend innovative solutions for enhanced work efficiencies.
