The Goizueta Business School is seeking a Director to lead the career development and recruiting efforts for the newly launched Master in Management (MiM) Program. Reporting to the Assistant Dean & Executive Director for the Undergraduate Career Management Center and collaborating closely with the MiM Program Director, the Director of MiM Career Development and Recruiting will provide career coaching, professional development and manage recruitment relationships, ensuring our students are equipped for success in the job market. The ideal candidate will possess high energy, enthusiasm, a student-centric approach, and a keen attention to detail. They will demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities, collaborate effectively, and drive initiatives to successful completion in an autonomous environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Plans, implements, evaluates and directs various activities related to the provision of career services for students within a particular school of the university including on-campus recruiting activities, the marketing and administration of related internship programs, and career guidance and counseling services.
  • Provides information to students on topics that affect career opportunities and advancement such as job opportunities, job search strategies, educational and training opportunities, occupational outlook information, career enhancement materials and resume writing.
  • Manages the development and maintenance of computerized information systems that support student placement efforts.
  • Directs the interviewing program for students in a particular school.
  • Oversees the development of internship programs to provide students with real world experience in their field of expertise.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with hiring representatives from potential employers of university graduates.
  • Coordinates events in which potential employers can discuss employment and career opportunities.
  • Creates marketing strategies to increase student and employer awareness of and participation in career services programs.
  • May make formal presentations to alumni, students, community groups or professional organizations.
  • Assists students in developing resumes.
  • Conducts workshops and programs on career planning and placement topics.
  • Ensures the preparation of operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Plans, administers and monitors the department's budget.
  • Establishes and administers departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional growth and the professional development of staff by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends in the career services field.
  • Hires, trains and supervises staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide career education and counseling to MiM students.
  • Engage in 1:1 career coaching with MiM students, covering career planning, exploration, resume and cover letter review, and conducting mock interviews.
  • Develop curriculum and teach first semester two-credit Professional Development course to MiM student cohort.
  • Collaborate with employer relations and CMC team to facilitate seamless implementation of in-person and virtual recruiting events for employers and students.
  • Support employer requests for job postings, application deadlines, resume collection, and interview scheduling for students and alumni.
  • Identify and cultivate new strategic employer relationships through various outreach methods and digital communication campaigns.
  • Maintain expertise in career services management platforms and provide training on their use to students.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting-related communications for both employers and students, including announcements, newsletters, website content, and social media management.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives to enhance career development opportunities for MiM students.
  • Collaborate on efforts to facilitate the creation of second semester applied experiential immersion project for MiM student cohort.
  • Provides on-site event support including after-hours events on both campuses and/or other venues as assigned.
  • Support BBA, CMC and BBA Program Office programming efforts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in the school's specialty or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in career planning and placement or a related field which includes one year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Seven years of career planning or related business/industry experience in an educational institution at a university level working with students of similar background to Emory students is highly preferred.
  • Experience advising or coaching students about employer hiring practices, job roles, career tracks, and professional expectations.
  • Experience working with early career college students, including working knowledge of career coaching and student development theories and practices.
  • Professional experience in career coaching and counseling, career development, experiential learning, educational program development and delivery, corporate recruiting, industry, or related fields.
  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and project management skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work across diverse international groups and contribute to inclusivity in the campus community.
  • Experience developing collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders; ideally working with faculty, alumni, and employers.
  • Experience working with web-based career management, communication, and collaboration tools such as Handshake, 12Twenty, LinkedIn, Canvas and Qualtrics.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
