POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Director of Jewish Lifelong Learning has direct responsibility for the fiscal and administrative management of the Jewish Studies division within the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program. The director will advise, plan and implement a diverse and comprehensive array of programs and services that have the common goal to enhance the academic, programmatic, financial and overall success of the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University. The director serves as the public face of the Jewish Lifelong Learning program, creating a professional and scholarly image through all teaching and communication with the public, active participants and other stakeholders. The director is responsible for the development, provision and evaluation of programs and services, which connect Jewish Lifelong Learning opportunities to the community in Northeast Ohio; particular emphasis is placed on providing visionary and dynamic leadership for short- and long-term planning in the areas of cultivating active program participants. The director shares responsibility with the Associate Provost for decisions regarding resource development and marketing.

CONTACTS
Department: Continuous supervision of staff and collaboration with staff for program development of new and ongoing lifelong learning activities and internal communication.
University: Regular contact with internal university constituents to share information, recruit faculty for courses and speakers for other lifelong learning activities.
External: Continuous communication with the public to promote activities and public programming including personal participation to represent the program and solicit donations from current and potential donors to the lifelong learning program.
Students: Little or no contact with students.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Direct supervisory responsibility of one fulltime department assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in adult Jewish education. Constituents expect academic expertise from the program director as well as significant experience in working with adult learning populations, both as a teacher and an administrator.
Education: Master’s degree required. PhD preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office environment and classroom environment. Occasional lightweight lifting may be required. Position includes infrequent travel, and work on evenings and weekends.
