Job Description Summary

Oversee the Gender and Sexuality Programs Office, with primary responsibility for the development and delivery of programming and initiatives to engage and educate Bentley students about critical workplace diversity issues, with a focus on gender equity and LGBTQ+ issues.

Essential Duties

  • Implement the strategy and vision for student LGBTQ+ and gender education efforts on Bentley’s Campus.
  • Supervise a full time staff member to carry out student LGBTQ+ and gender efforts. Including, but not limited to the Women’s Leadership Program, management of the Gender and Sexuality Student Lounge, and campus wide initiatives such as Equal Pay Day, PRIDE Open Forums, Trans Day of Visibility events,  and Women’s History Month.   
  • Serve as liaison to the Center for Women and Business, to facilitate corporate connections necessary to run the Women’s Leadership Program, Fellowship, Men As Allies Summit and other initiatives.
  • Oversee the strategic program development, event planning, and management of all aspects of the Women’s Leadership Program, including taking the lead on corporate relationships, admissions events, and workshop leader relationships.
  • Develop and coordinate educational, social, and cultural events for the university campus student body around gender and sexuality critical topics, collaborating with faculty and staff from other divisions as well as guest speakers and corporate mentors to deliver diverse and successful programming.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Student Equity and Inclusion team and other key partners to promote awareness of what other groups are doing on campus and leverage opportunities to cohost events.
  • Leverage partial oversight of the Student Equity and Inclusion Coordinator to ensure that gender and sexuality initiatives are achieving Student Equity and Inclusion goals.
  • Create visible programs, such as campus tabling activities, to reach a broader audience around timely topics.
  • Oversee the promotion and publicity of programs, events, and services effectively.
  • Respond to studentrelated requests at the Office of Gender and Sexuality in conjunction with other GSSP staff. Collaborate with Student Equity and Inclusion staff to respond to requests from faculty and other departments for critical topic presentations.
  • Actively advise and oversee the advising of the Office of Gender and Sexuality student organizations and assist with membership, activity planning, and execution, in oversight of and in conjunction with the GSSP staff member. Groups include Bentley Women’s Network, The Herstory Community, and Dresses to Dreams. Oversee the coordinator’s advising role of P.R.I.D.E., S.A.G.E., Men of Alliance and the Women’s Leadership Program Student Advisory team.
  •  Deliver presentations to students, faculty, staff and prospective students and families about programming and allyship.
  •  Responsible for overseeing staff member who will be hiring, training, tracking hours, evaluating, and supervising work study students; ultimately responsible for these duties as supervisor to departmental staff.
  • Manage direct communications with admissions.
  •  Serve on campus committees to advocate for inclusive policies and procedures.
  •  Serve as a BentleyPlus advisor by attending rolespecific trainings, facilitating advising sessions, and sending followup communications to advisees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Master’s degree plus 5-7 years related work experience.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills, and technological competency.
  • Experience working with programming to support a diverse group of identities.

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work
  • Ability to travel around campus for work related meetings and other events
