CBC seeks a Director for CAMP who will lead the daily operations of the CAMP program. The Director is responsible for actively identifying and recruiting all potentially eligible CAMP students as well as for the implementation and coordination of program activities for CAMP students and staff.  The Director also develops and processes all required correspondence for the CAMP program.
 
The position provides leadership for the administration, supervision, and development of policies, procedures, budget implementation, and annual reporting to the Department of Education.  The Director for CAMP will seek the approval of the Vice President for Student Services for modifications of objectives, significant budget modifications, or personnel changes. The Director reports to the Vice President for Student Services.
This position closes on April 28, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. The College will conduct initial interviews with selected candidates via Zoom and will conduct on-campus interviews with finalists.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Supervise CAMP advisors and program staff; hire, train and evaluate program staff; monitor staff development; track and monitor student worker hours and payroll; and conduct regular meetings with staff to ensure compliance with program regulations and objectives;
  • Develop a recruitment plan and assist outreach and recruitment efforts to migrant and seasonal farm workers, including maintaining an aggressive media campaign in English and Spanish and assisting with home visits when needed;
  • Conduct intake to determine eligibility into CAMP program; provide academic and career advising and determine basic needs and support services for students;
  • Coordinate and facilitate on-going education and cultural opportunities for CAMP students;
  • Develop and administer operational budgets according to federal and institutional policies and authorize expenditures in coordination with Vice President of Student Services;
  • Coordinate and communicate all CAMP related issues between U.S. Department of Education and program staff in cooperation with the Vice President of Student Services (Project Administrator);
  • Liaise and coordinate with state migrant agencies, school districts, community and state and national CAMP programs;
  • Develop monthly reports to project administrator;
  • Develop curriculum for Bridge Lab and Applied Leadership Course;
  • Coordinate Supplemental Instruction Support with the Math/Science Department; and
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university; 
  • Experience developing reports and conducting presentations related to program performance issues;
  • Experience with budget management and developing reports;
  • Educational and/or career advising experience;
  • Experience supervising employees; 
  • Knowledge of federal and state guidelines, policies and procedures;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; and
  • Two (2) years of experience working with first generation students, and migrant/seasonal farm workers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
  • Prior experience with federally funded grant programs in a higher education environment; and
  • Understanding of the role of recruitment, academic and career advising, and retention within the program scope and MSFW population.
