Position Summary

Reporting to the Divisional Administrator, the Director of Financial Operations will support all aspects of accounting, budgeting and financial reporting functions for the Division of Rheumatology.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the financial reporting of division projects to the Division Chief, Department Chair and senior financial leadership of the Department.
  • Administer, monitor, and audit clinical practice projects.
  • Analyze financial clinical activity of providers and prepare regular reporting.
  • Assist in the development and management of clinician business plans.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical trial, industry and private foundation sponsored project budgets in clinical settings.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget, monitoring or expenses against budget, projecting surplus and/or deficits, and overview of deviations of expenses from budget and/or revenue.
  • Provide overview and analysis of AIM HI related financial issues and incorporation into budget process.
  • Along with Division Chief and Division Administrator, assist with strategic planning and resource allocation for the division
  • Oversee accounting activities related to clinical expenditures and disbursements.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, training, performance management and retention.
  • Assist with supervision, assignment of duties, and annual evaluation for all levels of staff.
  • Assist with faculty, fellow and staff reimbursement review and approval.
  • Administer petty cash, pay-cards and other incentive payments for research subjects.
  • Assist with complex purchasing and sub-award invoice processing and oversight.
  • Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in training and experience, with at least four years of related experience
  • Specific knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and grant administration
  • Experience in personnel administration and supervision
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, and ability to apply sound supervisory practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MPH or MHA in related field may substitute, in part, for experience

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
