Job Summary
 

The Director will oversee a team responsible for client relationships, account management and program delivery for global custom programs. This role will have experience in professional education program design, teaching methods, formats, and channels – with a proven track record of successfully working with Learning & Development leaders, client partners and faculty to create programs with impact. Global custom programs may be delivered in Chicago, London, Hong Kong, UC Centers and/or client locations in the US and internationally. The Director will hire, lead, and develop staff who will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of custom programs across multiple formats (online, in person and hybrid). As a member of a cross-functional leadership team, the Director will develop custom program strategy and coordinate with Business Administration and Global Program Management and Operations functions to review and approve new custom client opportunities as well as, grow existing custom client relationships. This role will be hybrid and located at the Chicago Booth Gleacher campus in downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • As a senior member of the Executive Education team, participates in establishing objectives, long-term goals, policies, and procedures with the Executive Education Associate Dean and Directors.
  • Collaborates with key partners and Executive Education faculty to develop and/or redesign bespoke programs that meet the learning needs of current and prospective executive participants.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with client organizations for current and prospective custom programs; develops trusted relationships and partnerships to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Develop and manages annual budget for annuity and new custom programs that meet financial targets set by Chicago Booth.
  • Analyzes financial performance quarterly and implements corrective administration action when appropriate.
  • Develops, implements, and reports out on KPIs for key custom accounts and annuity programs.
  • Collaborates closely with Global Program Management and Operations Director to ensure consistent and high-quality program delivery process is maintained across all Executive Education programs.
  • Leads and coaches custom program delivery staff on client and faculty engagement, program design, account management and delivery for campus and off-site locations.
  • Assists direct reports in preparing budgets; authorizes payment for materials, facilities, staff, and instructional faculty.
  • Assists direct reports in custom program planning, budget management, client contracts, scheduling and ensuring appropriate staff coverage of delivering global custom programs.
  • Hires, onboards, trains and evaluates Executive Education staff and external faculty, as needed.
  • Travels internationally for client engagement and custom programs, as needed.
  • Manages managers and professional staff. Manages the development, scheduling, and implementation of programs and marketing communications. Will also evaluate the effectiveness of programs and revise the curriculum as needed.
  • Manages and maintains contact with client organizations. Also engages in activities that promote programs, including speaking at professional and alumni gatherings, writing articles, and presenting papers.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:

  • Master’s degree. 

Experience:

  • A minimum ten years of relevant professional experience.
  • Executive education experience with higher education market and ivy-plus business school experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and driving result through the work of others as well as budget management experience.
  • Experience negotiating with partners and clients and managing contracts.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Cvent, and Microsoft Office, especially MS PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Learning and Development, custom program design, faculty engagement and client account management.
  • Strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understand, collaborate and work with a diverse group of constituents and cultures across the globe (faculty, clients, staff, participants, alumni).
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written, as well as presentation skills.
  • Executive presence and credibility to engage senior-level and C-suite clients.

  • Adapt quickly to and manage changes in daily workflow.
  • Understand and balance the different priorities of executive education.
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.

Working Conditions

  • Work flexible hours according to demands of business.
  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
