The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.


Position Summary

The Director, CUIMC Faculty Programs and Services oversees the CTL programs and services for faculty at the medical campus. The Director seeks out new ideas at the forefront of educational development, and oversees all planning for programs in pedagogy, course development, inclusion and equity, and technology integration. The Director supervises Learning Designers, Associate and Assistant Directors, and other staff assigned to the CUIMC office and provides leadership to jointly develop and align programs and services across the CTL.


Responsibilities

Provides direction and leadership for the CUIMC faculty programs services team, and strategic initiatives, with a focus on educational goals of the CUIMC campus. Sets expectations for standards of service and quality of programs and projects. Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with established educational goals.

Advises policy and planning committees across schools and participates in CUIMC committees, in alignment with institutional priorities, to shape the current and future landscape of teaching and learning. Collaborates with faculty, centers, and institutes on the CUIMC campus. Serves at a focal point for contact with CUIMC leadership to broaden development, collaboration, and outreach efforts.

Recruits and supervises Learning Designers and CUIMC Associate and Assistant Directors. Provides overall direction to staff on educational development. Ensures adherence to the research-based practices by the staff. Ensures the development of documentation for best practices and faculty guides to support the CUIMC teaching community. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of related experience

  • Experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities in the overlapping areas of education and technology while showing a broad understanding of research related to instructional design and educational development. Superior communications skills. Able to engage faculty in complex disciplinary discussions.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with emphasis on motivational acumen leading to innovation. Experience recruiting and managing a team of full-time employees. Ability to manage staff and provide professional development opportunities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in discipline and prior experience teaching in a university setting. A cover letter is required for applications to be considered complete.
