INTERNAL SEARCH

Responsibilities:

Community Outreach and Projects (15% Effort)

Works under the direction of the Asst. Dean of the Center for Community & Global Partnerships (ADCGP) to facilitate faculty and community collaborations for community-based research and quality initiatives. 

·         Assist the ADCGP in strategic planning and annual goals for the CCGP.

·         Match and recruit faculty for joint appointments into the Center for Community and Global Partnerships to align with identified needs.

·         Facilitate partnerships between faculty and community partners and ensuring the use of established processes to implement projects and initiatives.

·         Provide a monthly CON leadership team report on the progress of current and identification of new initiatives.

·         Report quarterly at All-College Meetings on opportunities and current initiatives.

·         Support and facilitate scientific dissemination of CCGP initiatives.

·         Serve on the CON Executive Team.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Nursing Professional Development Unit (10% Effort)

Works collaboratively with the Community Outreach Director Nurse Planners contributing to the overall functioning of the UTHSC College of Nursing Continuing Education (CNE) Provider Unit.

·         Provide an annual report to the College of Nursing (CON) Executive Committee regarding the CNE events for the next 2-3 years.

·         Conduct needs assessments of alumni and nurses to determine workshops and seminars to be conducted by the CON CNE office and presents to the Executive Committee with recommendations.

·         Plan and implement all CNE events in coordination with CON staff, including space planning, managing AV needs, marketing, registration, securing speakers, transporting speakers, etc.

·         Provide review of relevant correspondence and forms and files, including BIO and Conflict of Interest and educational planning forms; provide guidance regarding all aspects of operation and evaluation to the CNE Professional Development Associate.

·         Participate in ongoing nurse planner and CNE training.

·         Participate as a super user for CENow.

·         Maintain accreditation of the NCPD unit and annual reporting requirements.

·         Participate in ongoing meetings regarding CON events.

·         Facilitate identification of visiting professors such as sponsored Distinguished Visiting Professors (DVPs) and Cashdollar lectures.

Rural Health Initiatives (5% Effort)

·         Provide a strategic vision for organization and expansion of rural health initiatives for the CON.

·         Create connections across the campus and communities for rural health.

·         Organize and lead a CON rural health task force that meets monthly to review and organize initiatives related to rural health.

·         Maintain the CON rural health map.

·         Communicate with CON leadership on the progress of rural health and seek approval for the rural health strategic plan.

 



Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications: 

The candidate must qualify for rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. 

Must possess doctoral degree from an accredited institution.

Must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Tennessee.

Departmental Preferences: 

Must be detail-oriented, strategic thinking to assist in CCGP growth; experience in evaluation and event planning related to CE; Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Human Subjects application experience; ability to facilitate research and QI projects; and ability to build and support teams.
