Job Summary
 

Provides logistical, operational, budgetary, and administrative function support of intercollegiate athletics games preparation and play. Responsible for event scheduling, team travel, sideline support, and related administrative and/or promotional activities for the assigned sport.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the daily administration of the sports program in conjunction with the head coach
2. Coordinates scheduling of sports team practices during the competitive season and pre-season training time
3. Organizes and maintain sports team equipment room and facility maintenance
4. Assists with managing budgets and fiscal processes and expending operational resources budgeted to the sports program in a manner consistent with policy
5. Coordinates delivery and distribution of post-workout and practice student athlete supplemental meals, including contract and vendor payment process if applicable
6. Arranges pre- and post-game meals for home games
7. Assists with ensuring the sports program's compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
8. Serves as team travel coordinator including the arrangement of transportation, lodging, meals, coordination of trip itinerary, and arrangement of practice times at the host institution facility
9. Travels with the team to ensure all team needs are met
10. Coordinates video acquisition and exchange for non-conference opponents
11. Assists in the oversight of student managers and other student staff as needed
12. Assists with the organization and execution of sport program events and fundraising activities
13. Participates in public relations and promotions for assigned sports program
14. Supports the Marketing and Communications department in the preparation of sports program materials and resources


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience
One (1) year of playing or program experience with a collegiate team.

Preferred Experience
Previous collegiate athletics administrative support preferred

Commitment to adhere to NCAA rules and regulations as well as University policies and procedures
Able to deal with multiple projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of sports organizing and scheduling at the intercollegiate competition level
Knowledge of assigned sport rules, strategy and tactics is also required
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Synergy and XOS video equipment)
Strong Attention to detail and strong organizational and follow up skills
Strong customer service and phone etiquette
