Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salary).

Position Description:

The Director, Business Operations will be responsible for oversight of the business functions of the University of Louisville Athletic Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, expense reimbursements and travel.  This position will report to the Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as oversight of the business operations of the Athletic Department including purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, transportation and travel. 
  • Oversee full-time business office staff as assigned.
  • Serve as Athletics liaison to campus constituents as needed.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, travel expense vouchers, and procurement card charges for assigned sports and operational areas to ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and Conference policies/procedure.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of the Athletics business operations.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis as needed to assist in department financial projections and decision making.
  • Assist in proactively monitoring of department budgets to ensure compliance with Board approved targets.
  • Assist coaches and department heads with annual budget preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer and/or the Director of Athletics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience as a collegiate Business Manager or similarly related business function position within a collegiate athletic department.
  • Master's degree in business, finance, sport administration or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Peoplesoft, Workday, and Archtics, or similarly comparable finance and ticketing software programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills including verbal and written.
