Description

 

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Quality Improvement, the Director for Assessment and Evaluation Services develops, implements, and manages assessment of student performance and evaluation of the medical education program, including measurement of the effectiveness of the curriculum, college of medicine programs, and instruction by the faculty.

  • Develops, implements, and manages comprehensive assessment and evaluation strategies for the college of medicine educational program aligned with the medical education program objectives, mission, and goals of the medical school.
  • Collaborates with institutional stakeholders to drive excellence in medical education, maintain accreditation standards, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Creates and implements assessment tools.
  • Oversees the collection, analysis, and interpretation of education program data, including student performance, faculty teaching effectiveness, and program outcomes.
  • Uses evidence-based strategies for analyzing and applying the results of assessments (e.g., item analysis, benchmarking, minimum competency thresholds, etc.).
  • Collaborates with faculty and curriculum committees to facilitate data-driven improvements.
  • Solicits, analyzes, and disseminates student feedback to drive enhancement in student performance and the learning experience.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a longitudinal database for tracking student data and outcomes from first contact with the college of medicine through post-graduate and career experiences.
  • Fosters and nurtures relationships and collaborations through the effective integration of assessment and evaluation efforts across the medical program and through the presentation of complex data, analysis, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders
  • Collaborates with faculty and educational leaders to provide training and support in assessment and evaluation techniques.
  •  Promotes a culture of continuous improvement in learning and assessment.
  • Seeks and participate in regular professional development to stay informed about best practices in medical education assessment and evaluation, enhance expertise, and further contributions to evidence-based approaches to effective teaching, learning, and program evaluation.

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelors and 5 years experience

    Education: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Preferred: Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent. Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Cert/Licensing: Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job as specified on the job posting details. Preferred: Certification in statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, STATA, and/or Python).
    Additional Job Posting:
