Director, Alumni Relations

Job Summary:

The Director of Alumni Relations reports to the Executive Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement. The Director of Alumni Relations will develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive alumni relations program that effectively attracts and involves alumni, parents of alumni, and future alumni in substantive ways that support the university's mission. The Director will also develop programs and recruit alumni to interact with a number of university programs.

 

Job Duties:

  • Develop programs, projects, and initiatives through which alumni can assist the university in achieving stated institutional goals.
  • Establish objectives, goals, and work plans for Alumni Relations that will provide measurable positive outcomes, such as increasing the alumni giving rate and attendance at alumni events; establishing alumni networking groups and programs that provide opportunities for alumni to re-connect and stay connected with the Institution. These objectives, goals, and work plans will provide support for furthering student involvement with the Alumni Relations through student and alumni programs, support the fundraising activities of the Institution, and enhance relationships with students, alumni, donors, and friends.
  • Work with Alumni Counsil members to promote the goals of the institution.  Organize, schedule, and manage quarterly alumni council meetings.
  • Works with Communications to produce all printed, promotional and branded pieces, website pages and related events. Oversee mailings and invitation lists to ensure consistent and current information.
  • Supervise Alumni Relations staff in planning Alumni related events and provide logistics briefings of all production aspects of alumni relations events.
  • Work with other Directors’ of Development Services to ensure the integrity of the Raiser’s Edge Database. Review alumni relations data collection processes within the database.
  • Establish the foundation for future alumni relationships, holds meetings and works with student leadership (in all 5 schools) of student groups to ensure continuity of leadership and alumni communications.

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree

     

    Experience:

    8 years experience in Alumni Relations

     

    Preferred:

    Raiser’s Edge experience

    Volunteer Management experience.
