Position Summary
The Digital Strategy and Marketing Manager is responsible for creating, managing, and reporting on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and paid web content to include multimedia, graphics, video, social media, landing pages, marketing partnerships, and advertising elements. The strategic goal of this position is to showcase the UIW story and recruit prospective students for all academic levels and programs. The Digital Strategy and Marketing Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Enrollment Services.

Description of Job Duties
  • Conceptualize and build effective paid search engine marketing campaigns through Google Ads, paid social platforms and other SEM tools with graphics and ad copy.
  • Target selected audiences through paid campaigns using available tools on social media and other digital sites.
  • Design and maintain brand elements for marketing pieces, internal documents, web, social media, emails, online ads, and landing pages.
  • Implement designated digital strategies through established interdepartmental and external partnerships to meet enrollment objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and best practices.
  • Monitor competition for insight and new options.
Job Duty Name Content Development
Description of Job Duties
  • Write and manage the creation of promotional messaging, graphics, print, video and other content elements to support marketing and enrollment strategies on all platforms.
  • Update content, graphics, and multimedia on university websites, landing pages, mobile, video and partner sites to grow user interaction and application conversions.
  • Enhance search engine optimization through site content development, page setup, link strategies and other SEO tactics.

  • Develop web functionality and content strategies with an enrollment focus and excellent user experience (UX) practices.
  • Support website updates that reflect university programs, vision and mission, and improve SEM, SEO rankings and social media interactions.
  • Implement tools and features to drive interaction on all devices.
  • Manage and improve content for admissions and academic programs utilizing SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Monitor and implement SEO improvements through web tools such as BrightEdge and/or Site Improve.

  • Collaborate with university departments and outside vendors to execute digital marketing strategies and meet overall enrollment management goals.
  • Work in conjunction with senior management to develop and guide strategic marketing enrollment plans.
  • Manage the digital marketing budget through channels in conjunction with management.
  • Review, analyze, and report on KPIs for marketing, social and advertising using proprietary tools and site analytics to show ROI and strategic goal effectiveness of various lead generation efforts.
  • Contribute to the success of university special projects as assigned.

  • Participate in social media strategy utilizing an array of sites and tools to enhance UIW visibility and drive traffic to the UIW websites, including enrollment social media posting and responding with interactive entries, photos, videos, and events.

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated creative skills portfolio with writing and design samples.
  • Excellent working knowledge of graphic programs: Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar applications.
  • Expert skills in writing and editing promotional copy with adherence to a style guide and SEO practices.
  • Strong proficiency in content management systems (CMS).
  • Functional expertise with HTML, CSS.
  • Proven skills in data collection, evaluation and reporting of web applications to attribute effectiveness across all digital marketing channels utilizing Excel for complex reporting.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities and accomplish tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and keep all projects progressing.
  • Strong skills working collaboratively with a team or overseeing direct reports.
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated ability to interpret guidelines, policies and procedures to fit fluid situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and complex Excel functions.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Note than an Associate Degree/60 college hours plus two (2) additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of said education.
Required Work Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of marketing experience to include at least two (2) years of digital marketing experience developing and implementing digital and social media advertising strategies.
  • Two (2) years of experience posting interactive social media content over multiple digital marketing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, Business, Marketing, Graphics or related field.
  • Two years plus of hands on experience with SEO and Google Analytics.
