Digital Media Specialist

The University of Southern California’s Iovine and Young Academy is seeking a creative and experienced professional for the position of Digital Media Specialist. Responsible for developing and implementing strategies for effective digital asset (images, video, audio files, etc.) capture, collection, and management. Organizes, catalogs, and maintains IYA’s digital asset library. Ingests, organizes and preserves digital assets, curating media for special projects and web, working across teams to manage and coordinate all items. Secure assets for showcase as needed and oversees the production and delivery of compelling digital content, within prescribed deadlines. Maintains a close relationship with stakeholders to gain thorough knowledge of requirements for digital media projects, web, and social media. Plans, organizes and oversees the creation of comprehensive digital content archives.

The ideal candidate must have a background in digital media and multimedia production, digital asset management, and digital asset management systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

● Oversees the production, capture, and delivery of compelling digital media content, within prescribed deadlines, to support web pages, social media, and special projects. Plans, designs and facilitates digital media productions, utilizing creativity and originality, from conceptualization to final product. Contributes unique interpretation or analysis to content. Expresses content in a creative manner.

● Manages and facilitates workflows for the incorporation of digital assets into DAM systems, strategizing and implementing processes for asset ingestion, storage and delivery. Responsible for organization, accessibility and preservation of digital assets for marketing, editorial, creative services, videography and media relations, allowing each department area to find and access assets in a simple and efficient manner.

● Manages digital media production projects and serves as a key resource for digital media production information. Establishes project timelines and ensures timely completion of project milestones. Interfaces with faculty, staff, students, and external contacts necessary to complete projects. Evaluates response to projects for effectiveness and makes recommendations for future actions, as appropriate.

● Curates and selects images for special projects and digital media as needed. Provides digital content for various media channels to promote programs, research, events, and/or fundraising efforts. Collaborates to seamlessly integrate visual elements onto websites, social media, and other design projects as needed. Assists with photo and

video shoots as needed. Coordinates and manages project assets to ensure they are delivered on time. Innovatively devise and implement strategies for the visually appealing and creative presentation of digital assets.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Proven experience in digital asset management. Strong knowledge of digital production practices. Familiarity with Adobe Suite and other relevant digital production tools. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality digital assets. Photography, video production, and content capture experience preferred. Web production and design experience is a plus.

● Minimum Skills: Proficiency in digital asset management systems, knowledge of digital production processes and workflows, familiarity with digital media tools including Adobe Creative Suite.

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,738.59 - $80,000. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 3 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Three years’ experience with digital asset management. Excellent research skills. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Photo Mechanic. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and adapt to change in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Ability to take initiative and creatively manage projects both independently and as part of a team. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
