Description
The Wild Center (TWC) is seeking a highly motivated digital media fellow for a 10 to 11 month position at a natural history museum in the heart of New York State’s Adirondack region. As a digital media fellow, you’ll help us produce content that tells our story, builds awareness of our work and enhances our brand. We believe there’s more than one way to tell a story and more than one way to share it. This position should be interested and/or experienced in marketing, digital content creation and social media. This job promotes leadership skills, development of marketing skills, and best practices in the digital media landscape. TWC values the safety and comfort of staff while providing a robust and enriching experience for visitors on-site and digitally. We are looking for passionate, curious, and motivated people to join our burgeoning digital team this year. Position includes shared, fully equipped housing less than 1 mile from campus, with all utilities and internet included.
Qualifications
● Technical skills including photographic and video abilities, and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) preferred ● Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change - we work in a dynamic setting with shifting daily duties ● Self-motivated - you seek opportunities to learn and grow and can thrive independently ● Experience planning, shooting and editing video ● Teamwork and collaboration - we work in a team based environment and offer support across departments ● Organization and time management skills - you will work on multiple tasks concurrently ● Maturity and professionalism - we will consider you if you demonstrate the above skills regardless of level of education completed ● An interest in natural history and climate science and working on- and off-site during all seasons ● An interest in learning more about a career in digital media, museum studies, or related fields ● Availability - available from mid-February through mid-November of 2022, with flexibility upon discussion ● Policies - be prepared to adhere to all Wild Center policies including NYS Covid safety procedures and regulations. Covid 19 vaccination and booster is required as a condition of employment.
