Description of Work Unit
Position will function as a part of the Warner College Communications team, linked to the Warner College Dean’s Office. The Communications team is responsible for managing and advancing the College’s brand through content marketing, social marketing, media relations, producing print and digital media for the College, as well as day-to-day management of the Student Success Center and coordination of Undergraduate recruitment.

Position Summary
The Digital Media and Communications Manager will create, distribute, and curate content related to the College and its programs to tell the College’s story to internal and external audiences. The position will create and oversee content on the College website, news page, and manage all College social media. The position will lead content strategy for the College and continually evaluate the effectiveness of the College’s content strategy and regularly report outcomes of the College’s communications efforts. The position will assist with ad hoc graphic design requests and implement projects following the College’s visual brand language. The position will support other communicators in the College with content editing and placement support.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in technical communications or a related field
  • Three years of experience in a communications role with an emphasis on creating content to advance a brand
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • More than three years of experience in a communications role with an emphasis on creating content to advance a brand
  • Strong written communications skills as demonstrated by development of content for a variety of public audiences
  • Specific experience writing about technical and/or scientific subjects
  • Ability to produce graphic design projects within College brand standards individually
  • Experience evaluating communications efforts via analytics
  • Demonstrated project management experience resulting in projects being complete on-time and on-budget
  • Experience supervising and/or overseeing a team

  • Develop and deploy written content for the website, College SOURCE, CSU magazines, social media platforms, printed collateral and other media across all audiences.
  • Maintain integrated content calendar
  • Monitor and update content as needed across all channels and website to ensure strong, timely curation and consistent messaging around the Warner brand.
  • Regularly measure, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing/brand initiatives and adjust strategy to achieve desired results.
  • Edit content from content providers from throughout College; help find placements for content bubbling up from the departments; foster content network throughout college
  • Create/design College print and digital collateral and development pieces

  • Hire, train, manage communications student interns and manage the work completed by communications student intern and outside partners.
