Location: Seattle, WASHINGTON
Deadline: Open Until Filled

As a UW employee, you have a unique opportunity to change lives on our campuses, in our state and around the world. UW employees offer their boundless energy, creative problem solving skills and dedication to build stronger minds and a healthier world.

UW faculty and staff also enjoy outstanding benefits, professional growth opportunities and unique resources in an environment noted for diversity, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits and natural beauty.

University Marketing & Communications ( UW Advancement) has an outstanding opportunity for Digital Marketing Automation Specialist to join their team.

Position Purpose

The digital marketing automation specialist, working for University Marketing & Communications (UMAC) within University Advancement, supports efforts to secure resources for scholarships, fellowships and programs that enhance the Husky Experience — inside and outside the classroom — for all University of Washington students.

By building and launching email marketing campaigns using marketing automation software, the specialist supports fundraising and alumni engagement across Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), which includes Student Life, Undergraduate Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, Enrollment Management, and the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity. Together, these units impact the experience of every single UW student. As one of the most innovative advancement units in the country, the ASA team helps deliver on the UW’s public mission to recruit, retain and successfully graduate a diverse and talented student body who actively make our world a better place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Campaign Production

The digital marketing automation specialist will create, launch and provide performance reports on email, event and engagement programs. This includes setting up A/B tests and complex audience logic, as well as troubleshooting technical and HTML code issues (in partnership, respectively, with Advancement’s Information Management team and UMAC’s front-end web developer). The work produced by this position supports the strategic priorities and opportunities defined by Advancement leaders within ASA and in accordance with industry best practices. This position will use UW data to build targeted lists and engagement streams with the goal of improving and maximizing engagement with the UW’s friends, alumni, donors, and other audiences and stakeholders.

Analytics and Reporting

This position will develop email campaign performance reports, conduct A/B tests, learn best practices for digital marketing data analytics, evaluate our audience engagement trends and gain insights to help continuously improve the UW’s digital marketing strategies. This position will be responsible for preparing and presenting email performance reports to both UMAC and ASA colleagues.

Governance

The complexity of the UW’s structure and involvement in marketing and communications creates the need for strict data governance and best practice reinforcement, using standards set by the UW’s marketing automation central governance team. This position will be expected to provide that reinforcement as directed by the director of digital engagement and digital marketing automation manager.
