Job Description

Sun Devil Athletics seeks a Digital Content Coordinator, Photo who, under administrative direction will provide a variety of services to the department, predominantly in photography. This position will primarily focus on producing content for the team’s official social media platforms and athletics website. Adheres to NCAA and Conference rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the Sun Devil Athletics, Arizona State University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Salary Range

$42,419 - $50,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

  • Conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit content for all 26 varsity sports and Sun Devil Club for official department websites and social channels.
  • Serve as photographer for various events as needed including but not limited to community/grassroots events, games and events, team recruiting visits, member/partner events and internal staff events.
  • Work closely with Media Relations, Marketing, Sponsorship and Game Entertainment staff departments to constantly develop new ideas for organic, non-promotional content.
  • Mentor assigned student interns. 
  • Develop a high-level of brand expertise about ASU's family of brands and implements the established creative direction and standards into their daily work.
  • Develop and produce predetermined & approved Sun Devil Athletic sponsor related content.
  • Proactively produce content for all mediums independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Coordinate archiving and sharing of digital photo assets for departmental usage.
  • Optimize content for native social media consumption.
  • Publish content in content management system.
  • Understand and analyze key metrics to inform content decisions and make changes when necessary
  • Utilize digital platforms to create a deeper connection with recruits and the fan base through storytelling and visualizations
  • Collaborate with other departments to leverage multimedia content to achieve their goals

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in the program of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Strong demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Suite.
  • Experience in producing content from start to finish under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video codes and formats a plus.
  • Experience in meeting deadlines, work in team-oriented and fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Sun Devil Athletics is a plus.
  • Experience in being creative with a propensity to push the envelope to new and upcoming trend.
  • Experience in work that requires organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and reliable to cover assigned tasks.
  • Experience working with high profile coaches/athletes an asset.
  • The aptitude to keep confidential and sensitive information close.
  • Evidence of a winning, team oriented, passionate attitude with a strong sense of urgency.
  • A natural storyteller, the ability to create engaging and thoughtful content via different mediums.

Working Environment

  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to have flexible work schedule; may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • May be required to travel on occasion.
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to:  computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
