Job Description

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, School of Engineering (SoE), to be responsible for developing and implementing the digital communications strategy for the SoE. Will report to the director of communications and serve as a core member of the SoE's communications team and the school's leading expert in digital communications channels, strategies, and opportunities; develop channel-specific strategies for the SoE's websites, email announcements, internal staff intranets, digital newsletters, social media platforms, and digital asset management systems; and create a wide range of digital content such as social media collateral, websites, landing pages, email communications, digital marketing campaigns, and possibly podcasts.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; seven years of digital marketing/communications experience, preferably in a higher education setting; comprehensive knowledge of digital communications channels, including websites and social media; excellent project management and written and oral communication skills; proficiency with content management systems (preferably WordPress and Drupal), Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Drupal, WordPress, project management software, social media management software (e.g., Hootsuite), and Google Analytics; some knowledge of HTML coding and ability to make changes to design and content of websites; understanding of best practices in user design/experience and SEO; experience managing social media accounts; initiative; flexibility; attention to detail; discretion and judgment with sensitive information/issues; and experience managing complex issues without clear precedent. Must be able to provide solutions that require complex analysis and interpretation of the circumstances/issues, work independently, juggle multiple projects, integrate constructive feedback and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate across all organizational units in a team-oriented environment.
