Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated information intern to represent Michigan Medicine's Department of Communication creative services team. This position will report directly to the Creative Services Manager for daily responsibilities.

The Digital Asset Management intern will be focused on helping develop the Digital Asset Management system for Michigan Medicine, along with consulting on current and future processes found in the Creative Services Team.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to generate new ideas, possess a strong understanding of digital asset management systems, exceptional skills in establishing naming conventions, a keen eye for metadata accuracy, and proficiency in Photo Mechanic & the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Bridge.

Responsibilities*
  • Collaborate with other members of the creative services team to optimize creative projects
  • Implement and maintain our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure easy access to assets across the organization
  • Create and enforce digital asset naming conventions and metadata schema to ensure consistency and retrievability
  • Audit, organize, and categorize digital assets, including images, videos, graphics, and documents
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure assets are properly formatted, tagged, and archived
  • Provide training and support to staff on utilizing the DAM system effectively
  • Oversee the ingestion of assets into the DAM system, including metadata entry and quality control
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure the DAM system meets the organization's technical and business requirements
  • Lead the effort to streamline and optimize workflows related to digital asset creation, storage, and distribution
  • Stay current with DAM trends and make recommendations for system and process improvements
  • Assist in the creation and editing of digital content using Adobe Creative Suite, as necessary

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach to work with a positive, upbeat, professional and responsible attitude.
  • Experience working collaboratively to set goals, implement projects, and assess success
  • Ability to handle many projects, often at the same time, through their entire life cycle in collaboration with internal and external team members.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Work Schedule

Core business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
