  • JOB DUTIES

Description

Under the supervision of the RD Supervisor, you will be responsible for the medical nutrition therapy of NICU and Peds patients at the Santa Monica Hospital. You will be responsible for the assessment, documentation, implementation, monitoring and reassessment of the care plan; patient education; and referral for further care at discharge from UCLA Health network. You will also supervise the Nutrition Lab and Breast Milk/Formula Fortification room’s daily work, infection prevention, policy implementation, and procurement of supplies. You will be expected to have superb communication skills and strong teamwork ethic as you will be working closely with dietetic technicians, food service personnel, nurses, physicians, patients, and other health care team members. This position may also be cross-trained with adult patients in the ICU, cardiac, renal, GI, OB, oncology, head/neck, med/surgery, geriatric, and critical care areas. Pay Range: $32.14-72.37 Hourly



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

* Must hold a Registered Dietitian License with the State of California. * At least 1 year of experience NICU and Pediatrics. * At least 4 years as a Registered Dietitian. * Ability to use all breast milk nutrition lab equipment (gram scale, formula, dishwasher, computer, timeless software system, formula mixing equipment and Timeless software). * Ability to assess NICU and Peds patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on the Standards of Nutrition Practice and specialty Guidelines. * Ability to demonstrate appropriate written and verbal communication skills; must be an effective communicator when interacting with hospital administration, medical, nursing, allied health professionals, and food service staff.
