Diagnostic Medical Physics Assistant

This position assists the Diagnostic Medical Physicist in performing diagnostic machine quality assurance (QA), radiation safety related tasks associated with the use of radioactive materials, and other assignments necessary to help demonstrate compliance with regulatory and accreditation commitments. This position is not responsible for providing direct patient care.

  • Performs radiation safety audits and surveys.
  • Manages radiation protection garment inventory and inspection.
  • Maintains instrument and equipment calibrations.
  • Assists with handling of nuclear medicine patient survey/waste.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the MIPRS Director.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Mathematics, a scientific field, or a closely related field.


Preferred
  • Three (3) years of applicable experience.
