Job Title: Azure Cloud Operations Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Azure Cloud Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our Azure cloud infrastructure while leading our cloud operations team. This role combines the responsibilities of both the Azure Cloud Operations Lead and the Cloud Operations Manager to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical role in managing our cloud-based systems and services to deliver high-performance solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1.    Leadership in Cloud Operations: Lead and mentor a team of cloud professionals while overseeing the deployment, management, and operational support of our Azure cloud environment.
2.    Strategic Cloud Infrastructure Management: Develop strategies to optimize cloud infrastructure for efficiency, reliability, and scalability in a healthcare and academic setting.
3.    Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with healthcare professionals, researchers, and academic staff to understand and meet their cloud-related needs.
4.    Ensuring Compliance and Security: Maintain the highest standards of data security and compliance, particularly with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
5.    Incident Management and Resolution: Lead incident response efforts, ensuring swift and effective resolution of issues affecting cloud services.
6.    Budget and Resource Management: Manage cloud-related budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective operation of cloud services.
7.    Cloud Infrastructure Management: Lead the planning, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
8.    Team Leadership: Manage a team of cloud engineers and operations specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
9.    Infrastructure Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools and practices to proactively identify and address issues, optimize resource utilization, and improve the overall performance of cloud resources.
10.    Cost Management: Monitor and control cloud-related costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-effective strategies without compromising performance and security.
11.    Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to enforce security best practices, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
12.    Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures or disasters.
13.    Capacity Planning: Plan for future capacity needs by analyzing trends, usage patterns, and growth projections to ensure scalability and performance.
14.    Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
15.    Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for reference and knowledge sharing.
16.    Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about cloud technology advancements, assess their applicability to the organization, and drive initiatives to enhance cloud operations efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
1.    Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with an emphasis on cloud computing.
2.    Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, or a related role, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management position.
3.    Cloud Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cloud services, and infrastructure as code (IAC) principles.
4.    Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams to achieve goals.
5.    Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in cloud management tools, scripting languages, and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
6.    Security Knowledge: Understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and experience in managing security compliance in the cloud.
7.    Cost Management: Experience in managing cloud costs, optimizing resource usage, and implementing cost-effective strategies.
8.    Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity practices.
9.    Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
10.    Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.
