Description of Work Unit | The University Advancement development team within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University is seeking a Development Operations Coordinator. Who We Are Located in the beautiful town of Fort Collins, Colorado, CSU is a premier land-grant university with world-class programs in education, outreach, and research. The Warner College of Natural Resources is one of eight colleges at Colorado State University. The Warner College is recognized as one of the top natural resources and environmental science colleges both nationally and internationally. The College is comprised of five academic departments and several major research and outreach units. The Warner College Development office raises support for the entire college. This position reports to the Director of Development for the Warner College. |
Position Summary | The ideal candidate for this position will be a consummate professional, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring accuracy of work, with strong personal characteristics that lead to trust and confidence among external and internal constituencies. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with donors, prospective donors, alumni, colleagues, faculty, staff, and students. Eligible candidates will understand how they can make a difference in supporting the future direction of both CSU and WCNR, while meeting targeted timelines. The WCNR Development Operations Coordinator is a full-time position reporting directly to the WCNR Director of Development. The Coordinator will play an integral role in overseeing the operational and administrative activities that support the College’s fundraising goals. The Development Operations Coordinator will handle all operational aspects the College’s development office, including but not limited to donor relations and stewardship, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of donor data and gift fund management, assisting with internal and external development office communications, etc. Examples include – new fund creation; create and track donor documents such as fund agreements and pledge forms; manage scholarship stewardship and administration; coordinate solicitation and appeal code requests from the college’s faculty and students; assist with development webpages and marketing materials; assist with event planning; and monitor WCNR pipeline information in the Advance database; etc. Additionally, the coordinator will create and maintain processes to support frontline fundraisers, the dean, department heads, and faculty in their donor interactions. Examples include – prepare visit/trip materials; enter contact reports; develop presentations; assist with fundraising material creation; support proposal creation; pull ad-hoc reports; etc. The Coordinator may also be responsible for the management of student employees and will handle all team administrative duties, including but not limited to assisting with calendars and scheduling, processing receipts and travel documents, and other duties affiliated with cultivating and stewarding WCNR donors. This position will infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of their work in order to contribute to ensuring processes and services are inclusive. This person will also work to ensure an inclusive environment for their team and will continuously strive for inclusive excellence. The DOC manages WCNR’s scholarship process, developing strategies for ensuring as many students as possible complete the CSU scholarship application. Works with scholarship committee and verify scholarship criteria to ensure donor wishes are being met. Responsible for maintaining the Academic Works online data base for the Warner College (approximately 150 scholarships totaling approximately $950,000). Resolves scholarship challenges with students and the Office of Financial Aid. In collaboration with Warner College Director of Development create and execute stewardship plan for Warner College scholarship donors. The position will work with three frontline fundraisers, faculty, and staff from the five academic units in the College as well as its associated Centers, University Advancement staff across campus, and the CSU Foundation. The WCNR development office is located on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. |
